Speakers
Sarat Kunapuli, D.O.
Board-eligible and fellowship-trained adult reconstruction surgeon, Sarat C. Kunapuli, D.O., joined Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center in August 2013. After receiving his medical degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Dr. Kunapuli completed an orthopedic surgery residency at McLaren Greater Lansing/Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan. He then went on to complete advanced fellowship training in adult reconstruction at William Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Dedicated to providing individualized care using the most advanced surgical techniques, Dr. Kunapuli specializes in performing adult reconstruction procedures for the hips, knees, and shoulders, including minimally invasive hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, complex hip and knee revisions, direct anterior hip replacements, shoulder resurfacing, and arthroscopic procedures.
When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Kunapuli enjoys playing golf, fitness, and spending time with his family.
Ryan Rahhal, M.D.
Dr. Rahhal was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma in 1999 with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Dr. Rahhal received his Medical Doctorate degree in 2004 from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He completed his Neurosurgery residency in 2011 at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. Dr. Rahhal was trained in all areas of Neurosurgery with specific emphasis on spinal biomechanics, intracranial and vascular lesions.
Dr. Rahhal began private practice in 2011 at Neurosurgery Specialists as a general neurosurgeon. He provides care to patients who are experiencing problems within the spine and peripheral nerves such as carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve disorders. Dr. Rahhal's areas of special intere include vascular anomalies and complex spine disorders and spinal instrumentation.
Daniel Boedeker, M.D.
Dr. Boedeker grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 1996 with a B.S. in Zoology. Dr. Boedeker received his Medical Doctorate degree in 2000 from the University of Oklahoma Health and Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He completed his Neurosurgery residency in 2006 at Baylor College of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas. Dr. Boedeker was trained in all areas of Neurosurgery with specific emphasis on complex spinal disorders, brain tumors and vascular lesions.
Dr. Boedeker began private practice in 2006 at Neurosurgery Specialists as a general neurosurgeon. He provides care to patients who are experiencing problems within the brain, the spine and the peripheral nerves, such as carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve disorders. Dr. Boedeker's areas of special interest include: brain tumors, minimally invasive approach to pituitary tumors, complex spine and spinal instrumentation, aneurysm and AVM surgery, minimally invasive neuroendoscopy and stereotactic radiosurgery.
Kevin Berry, Attorney
Kevin D. Berry focuses on the representation of employers in Workers' Compensation and Employment Law. Rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell, he is a frequent speaker at continuing education seminars and has served on the Board of Governors of the Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Section. He also serves as a Workers’ Compensation Mediator. Education: University of Missouri BA 1983; University of Tulsa JD 1986 (Tulsa Law Journal, Delta Theta Phi). Admissions: Admitted to the bar 1986, Oklahoma; also admitted before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit; U.S. District Court, Northern, Eastern and Western District Courts. Memberships: Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Section (Past Board of Governors for the Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Section - President), Tulsa County Workers' Compensation Section, Oklahoma Self Insured's Association, Fellow of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation, American Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association and Tulsa County Bar Association (Past Member, The Professional Responsibility Committee). Douglas Koontz, M.D.
Dr. Koontz grew up in Altus, Oklahoma. He graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 1977 with a B.S. in Microbiology. He received his Medical Doctorate degree with distinction in 1981 from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He completed his Neurosurgery residency in 1987 at the University of Oklahoma Health and Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Koontz was trained in all areas of Neurosurgery.
In 1987, Dr. Koontz began a private practice in Enid, Oklahoma as a general neurosurgeon. In 1989, he moved to Des Moines, Iowa establishing a neurosurgical practice. Dr. Koontz returned to Oklahoma and began private practice in 2004 at Neurosurgery Specialists as a general neurosurgeon. He provides care to those patients experiening problems with the brain, the spine and peripheral nerves, such as carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve disorders. Dr. Koontz's areas of special interest include spine problems, specifically, motion preservation with artificial disc placement.
Tyler Boone, M.D.
Dr. Boone joined Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center in 1994. After receiving his undergraduate education in microbiology from The University of Oklahoma, Dr. Boone went on to complete his medical degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. After a general surgery internship at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, he then went on to complete a residency in orthopaedic surgery from The University of Tennessee Campbell Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Boone specialized further, completing a spine fellowship from the University at Buffalo The State University of New York, School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.
In addition to his duties at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center, Dr. Boone serves as Spine Surgery Consultant for University of Tulsa, Oral Roberts University, and Northeastern State University. He is also a team physician for Charles Page High School. In his free time, Dr. Boone enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Boone is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Judge Eric Quandt
Judge Eric Quandt was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1963. He attended
the University of Wisconsin in Madison, graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in communications in 1985. He next attended the University of Tulsa, College of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1988.
Following law school, Judge Quandt worked as a clerk for U.S. Federal
Magistrate John Wagner in Tulsa. He was an associate attorney for Michael Taylor from 1988 to 1991 handling civil trials and workers’ compensation cases. In 1991, he established the law firm of Quandt, Bean and Paul and served as managing partner for civil litigation, workers’ compensation and collections practice. Then in 1996, he established The Quandt Law Firm, handling a busy civil litigation and workers’ compensation practice.
On July 7, 2008, he was appointed by Governor Brad Henry to serve as a Judge of the Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Court. On January 1, 2011, Judge Quandt will service as Vice-Presiding Judge of the Court.Judge Eric Quandt was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1963. He attended

Jay Lorton, M.D.
Dr. Lorton joined Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center in 2001. After receiving his medical degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, he went on to complete residencies in general surgery and orthopedic surgery at the same institution. Dr. Lorton then went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine from the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama.
In addition to his clinical and surgical duties at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center, Dr. Lorton serves as team physician for Oral Roberts University, The University of Tulsa, Northeastern State University, and Skiatook High School. Dr. Lorton also enjoys running, scuba diving, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Lorton is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Alan Lewis, M.D.
Dr. Lewis joined Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center in 1984. Graduating from The University of Kansas School of Medicine with his medical degree, Dr. Lewis interned at Bexar County Hospital, University Health System in San Antonio, Texas. He then went on to complete his Orthopaedic Surgery residency from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, School of Medicine. Dr. Lewis has also completed a Foot & Ankle fellowship through Roger A. Mann in Oakland, California.
In addition to his duties at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center, Dr. Lewis serves as a Clinical Instructor, Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, The University of Oklahoma – Tulsa School of Community Medicine and a Clinical Instructor at The University of Oklahoma – College of Medicine – Tulsa. Dr. Lewis is also team physician for Oral Roberts University men and women’s basketball and soccer as well as women’s volleyball.
Dr. Lewis is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Frank Hackl, M.D.
Dr. Hackl graduated from medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas after being in the United States Air Force and a 12 year career as a software engineer. He completed his Anesthesia Residency in Lubbock, Texas and an additional year in pain fellowship under Gabor Racz, M.D. at Texas Tech University. He was recruited to Tulsa to join Tulsa Integrated Pain Services and is trained in all aspects of pain medicine including medical and interventional therapies. He is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. His goal is to relieve pain through interventions and therapy, and to minimize the use of medications as much as possible.
Dr. Hackl is married and has three children. He and his wife Virginia enjoy spending time with their family.
Kasra Ahmadinia, M.D.
Kasra Ahmadinia, M.D., is a board-eligible and fellowship-trained spine surgeon at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center. After graduating summa cum laude from Washington University, which is consistently ranked in the top 15 schools in the country, Dr. Ahmadinia received his medical degree from the highly ranked University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He completed a general surgery internship and a residency in orthopedics at one of the top 20 hospitals for orthopedics in the country, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He then went on to complete advanced fellowship training in spine surgery at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois, which is home to one of the top three spine fellowship programs in the country. Dr. Ahmadinia received training from world-renowned physicians who were pioneers of minimally invasive surgery technology. Minimally invasive procedures cause less damage to the muscles surrounding the spine, allowing Dr. Ahmadinia to help patients return to their active lifestyles quickly and safely.
Committed to helping patients return to their active lifestyles quickly and safely, Dr. Ahmadinia specializes in performing minimally invasive and navigation-guided surgeries as well as diagnosing and treating spine injuries and conditions, such as spine tumors and scoliosis.
Dr. Ahmadinia is excited to return to his hometown of Tulsa to begin his practice. When he's not seeing patients, Dr. Ahmadinia enjoys playing sports, reading, traveling, spending time outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.
